The 2007
Daniel Morris Memorial Tribute Ride
to Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

The members of Rolling Thunder(R) Tennessee Chapter 3 were privileged to conduct a memorial ride as a
gesture of respect and honor for Daniel Morris, an American hero and local veteran
who paid the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our freedom.

We are thankful to the entire Morris family for allowing us to share in this event with them
and were especially grateful to have the honor of having Daniel's father, Glen Morris, join us in our memorial ride.

Arriving at the gravesite, listening to the bugler playing Amazing Grace and Taps,
having a display of American flags present, participating in the laying of a wreath,
and listening to a member of the Patriot Guard speak of the life and sacrifice of Daniel
made this event an appropriate tribute to this fallen veteran.

The Chapter would like to express our sincere appreciation to members of the local Patriot Guard
and Christian Motorcycle Association for turning out to support this event and
pay their respect to the Morris family and their son Daniel.

This event genuinely illustrated the truth behind the saying "Gone But Not Forgotten".
We are grateful to all who made this event a success,
but most of all we are grateful to Daniel Morris for his willingness to lay down his life in service to this Nation.

This event like all of our others was open to anyone who wanted participate with us.

Whats it about?

Staff Sgt. Daniel M. Morris

is to become one of our Memorialized Heros

You see the completed bronzes of the brave men and women of our United States Armed Services who sacrificed it all in the war on terror,
and whom have been honored to date by the Never Forget project.

Operation_Never_Forget

From what we gather Operation Never Forget will be providing Daniel's Bronze Bust
but it's up to the family or someone else to provide the pedestal it's going to be placed upon.
They were lacking about $2,000.00 (for the base) of the bronze bust of SSG. Daniel Morris

They have been working hard to raise the needed funds. This was a great way for folk's to help out while getting to have a little fun in the process,
It was another chance to visit or meet Daniel's family for the people who haven't already and show them they care and that Daniel won't be forgotten.

About half way through the evening over $1000.00 had been raised so it looks like it won't be long before
we get to see Daniel's Bronze Bust imbellish the grounds of 1 of 3 lucky sites.

From what we gathered there are 3 places in mind for it,
A Clinton School, Library or the most favored choice from who we chatted with, The Clinton Courthouse
